The beach of Bibione is among the largest in the whole Adriatic coast. You can therefore take advantage of a space around your umbrella of at least 16 square meters, which will ensure the correct social distancing and the amplitude necessary to be able to move in total freedom. The beach will be accessible already from 30th May, with only heliotherapeutic purposes. From 6th June, the rescue service will be activated. Pluto’s beach will also reopen from 30th May, equipped to host our four-legged friends: it will be possible to book the sun umbrella directly from the website, requesting additional services in case the dog needs special care.
Is the free beach open?
The free beach is still closed, awaiting new provisions from the Municipality of San Michele al Tagliamento-Bibione to be able to reopen it in complete safety.
What will you have to do to enter the beach?
Access to the beach will not be so different from previous years. Some bathing establishments may require a prior reservation, to regulate and limit the flow of bathers. It is therefore recommended to inquire before going to the beach, by sending an email or making a phone call to your trusted establishment.
Those staying at a hotel can take advantage of the private beach dedicated to the hotel facilities.
In general, all beaches will be equipped with sanitizing products available to guests and staff, and special information signs with the list of rules to pay attention to. The common areas, such as bars, bathrooms and showers, will be open and usable but will be rearranged to avoid gatherings, as well as being frequently cleaned and sanitized. Regular cleaning and sanitizing of the equipment (especially deck chairs and beds) will also be ensured at each change of person and at the end of the day. It will also be possible to bathe in the sea freely, while maintaining the right safety distances, and stop on the shore to assist children who are in the water.

Specific signs will be introduced to manage flows in closed environments and appointments will be scheduled so that more people do not meet in confined spaces.
Dispensers with hydroalcoholic solutions for hand hygiene will be installed and the entrances and exits of the guests of the plant will be monitored to avoid overcrowding in the common areas. Access to the wellness area, which includes the Spa, swimming pools and beauty treatments, will be regulated by the guidelines provided for these production activities. To know the opening hours or to book treatment sessions, just consult the Bibione-Thermae website.

Which events will there be this summer?
The calendar of events organized by the Municipality of San Michele al Tagliamento-Bibione has undergone a profound change. The Mizuno Beach Volley Marathon, the Septemberfest Bibione and the concerts have unfortunately been suspended. Instead, it will be possible to visit the lighthouse, access the Fun Fair and the X-River that connects the city with Lignano Sabbiadoro.
Until the 28th June, however, the Cavallini Sgarbi Collection can be visited in Portogruaro: a collection of works of inestimable artistic value enclosed in the splendid setting of the Bishop’s Palace. The Cortino del Castello di Fratta, in Fossalta di Portogruaro, home of the Literary Museum of Ippolito Nievo and of the beautiful garden of Mars and Flora, which is in bloom in June, will also be open to the public. As regards religious tourism, however, two international events are planned: the display of the relics of Padre Pio and of San Giovanni Paolo II respectively from 26th June to 6th July and from 16th July to 16th August.
Despite the restrictions and difficulties dictated by Covid-19, the locality of Bibione is open to welcome anyone who wants to warm up under its sun, take a bath in its sea, stroll through its streets and enjoy its natural landscape, and try to do it in the best possible way, ensuring vacationers the maximum fun, relaxation and normalcy. The city has introduced a few more rules to protect your health, but its warm hospitality and suggestive landscapes will always remain the same.
