On 4th May 2025, Bibione will be tinged with hope and solidarity with the Wings for Life World Run, a unique global race. The event, which takes place simultaneously in different locations around the world, has an ambitious goal: to raise funds for research into spinal cord injuries.
An innovative race format
Unlike traditional races, the Wings for Life World Run does not have a fixed finish line. The start is scheduled for 13:00:00 CET, simultaneously all over the world via the dedicated app. Thirty minutes after the start, a virtual “Catcher Car” will start chasing the participants, gradually increasing its speed. The last runner to be reached by the Catcher Car will be the global winner.
Bibione: a suggestive route
For its eleventh edition, the Wings for Life World Run in Italy will be held in Bibione, which, with its breathtaking seafront and uncontaminated nature, will offer an ideal setting for the race. The route will wind between the golden beach and the pine forest, offering participants unforgettable views: from the entrance to the Capalonga campsite, you will proceed north on Via della Laguna, then continue on Via Baseleghe, turn right on Via dei Lecci and finally rejoin the promenade on the seafront to return to Capalonga.
Along the route there will be refreshment points with water, dried fruit, bananas and Red Bull.
An event for everyone
The Wings for Life World Run is open to everyone, from professional runners to amateurs, from families to groups of friends, to people in wheelchairs. The important thing is to participate and support research: 100% of the registration fees and donations finance research on spinal cord injuries. Runners and wheelchair participants will start side by side; the only requirement is that wheelchair participants compete with their usual wheelchair.
