Summer, you know, is synonymous with holidays, but it can also mean time to dedicate to spiritual well-being and to inner peace.
The Parish church of Santa Maria Assunta celebrates also in 2022 from 2nd to 16th August the Forgiveness with moments of prayer and a programme of appointments for all the faithful who are on holiday in the seaside resort during the first half of the month.
It starts on Tuesday, 2nd August at 9 pm with the ceremony of the opening of the Holy Door and the inaugural ceremony with the Cardinal Marcello Semeraro, prefect of the Dicastery for the Causes of Saints. The Choir “S. Maria Assunta” and the trumpet ensemble “Ensembletrombe FVG” will perform.
In the next days there will be a whole series of masses and encounters. During this period, the plenary indulgence will be granted and it will be possible to access the chapel with the Shroud (copy) every day from 8 am to 6.30 pm.
The Holy Door will be closed then on Tuesday, 16th August 2022 after the recitation of the Holy Rosary in the park of the church at 9 pm, in the presence of the Bishop S.Ecc. Mons. Giuseppe Pellegrini.
So many are the initiatives of prayer, missionary solidarity and meeting, in a place that gives great importance to its Italian faithful but also to foreign ones, with the sacramental confession and the celebration of masses in different languages, among them in German, Slovak, and Polish.
